When Danny approached me to DJ his wedding at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, I knew we’d be in for a treat. We would be infusing his passion for theatre and production throughout the event at this glorious venue.
We had the entire theatre to ourselves, of course. Plugging right into the building’s sound system was not only selfishly easy for me but also AWESOME for everyone else! Guests were seated on the main level while the ceremony took place on stage after one of the coolest processionals I’ve ever done. We migrated for cocktail hour to ‘The Garage’ annex outside of the main theatre for a scene change.
Dinner seating was on the stage (yup) where Danny & Josh made the GRANDEST of Grand Introduction entrances of any wedding this side of the Mississippi. First dances took place on stage as well (of course), right in the center of the action in a mini-dancefloor between tables. ‘The Garage’ annex was again used, this time for the Cake Cutting as the stage underwent our one more scene change. Dinner tables had to be cleared out for our dancefloor, yes on stage! The music tilt of the night was varied and eclectic. Danny was looking for Classic Rock meets EDM. Add a bit of 80s and 90s throwback to the mix and we had our own ROCKING dance musical. This perfectly set the final scene for one last trick up our sleeves: a slow dance with beautifully raining confetti.
This Colonial Theatre Wedding was easily one of the favorite weddings I’ve ever DJed – reach out and let’s make yours next!
