Penfield Pavilion right in Fairfield is the perfect spot for an unassuming wedding with beachfront views. The outdoor patio is great for ceremonies and cocktail hours, today the ceremony was off-site so the bar was setup for ocean views.
While they advertise a 180 guest capacity, I would really not recommend exceeding 150. The couple today was not very concerned about ‘checking all the boxes’, so there were not many things to place in their itinerary other than the dancing! We gave them a brief, understated introduction as they entered for their first dance followed by toasts. That was it!
During our initial consult, the couple said numerous times: “We just want to have a big party”. As you can see in the video, their guests were clearly on the same page and were not shy about getting on that dance floor. As it was September 21st, we had to play September by Earth Wind & Fire. It went over SO well that the crowd DEMANDED I play it again. And a third time! I have hardly ever repeated a song but this was clearly an amazing exception, one that the groom said they were talking about for weeks.
Having their wedding at the Penfield Pavilion fit the bill for exactly what the couple was looking for.
