Alyssa and Andrew’s wedding at the historic Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT, was all about creating a fun, party vibe for their 60-person guest list, mostly friends in their 30s.
We were brought on to handle the music for the entire event—ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The evening kicked off with the ceremony on the mansion’s beautifully manicured lawn, where we played the couple’s handpicked songs for the processional and recessional. During the planning phase, we carefully timed each track so nothing would be cut off during the short walk down the aisle.
After the ceremony, guests moved to the patio and foyer for cocktail hour. While they mingled and enjoyed light bites and drinks, we kept the background music light, setting the mood without interrupting conversations.
Once the cocktail hour wrapped up and Alyssa and Andrew returned from taking photos, the party moved into the East Ballroom for a sit-down dinner, one of several event spaces at Wadsworth Mansion. They opted not to introduce the wedding party and instead went into toasts to cap off dinner. We then moved the party and segued into the central dance area, enticing guests to change locations once again with their spotlight dances. We used this opportunity to immediately open the dance floor with everyone in the room.
Alyssa and Andrew’s playlist was a mix of throwbacks, EDM, hip-hop, and today’s hits. They also chose our signature DJ + live sax combo, which always takes the dance floor to the next level.
After a private cake cutting, the reception wrapped up at 10:30 PM. If you’re looking for a wedding venue in Middletown, Connecticut, that offers not only picturesque lawns and historic architecture but also the perfect setting for an epic dance party, the Wadsworth Mansion is the place to be.
